Walmart Media is planning to leverage its first-party shopper data to emerge as a top 10 US ad business in the next five years, as per Ad Age. The retail giant is planning to partner with The Trade Desk to develop a new programmatic buying platform that uses Walmart’s first party data to place ads outside Walmart properties.

TikTok has inked a partnership with media holding company WPP that will give its media clients early access to emerging services built by the social platform. The two companies also said they would jointly create a training and accreditation program for WPP agencies that will secure priority access to content tailored to media and creative disciplines.

Established less than two years ago, the company already has more than 80,000 subscribers, one third of who are under 30. According to Harding, 60% of them have opted for paid membership and the rest have registered for the free daily ‘Sensemaker’ email on a free trial.

Family-owned Quincy Media was acquired by Broadcaster Gray Television for $925 million in cash in a deal landing it with stations in 102 markets reaching over 25% of US TV households. Gray shares were up 2.7% at $17.51 in mid-morning trade.

YouTube has tapped Craig Hunter, a veteran executive with Sony Pictures Television, as global head of preschool content for the internet platform’s originals team. Hunter spent nearly nine years at Sony Pictures Television, most recently as director of kids’ networks. His task is to grow the slate of YouTube original content for preschool kids for a global audience.

Apple released the first iOS 14.5 developer beta today that will allow users to unlock their iPhones via Face ID even while wearing a mask provided the iPhone’s owner is also wearing an Apple Watch. Users can lock their iPhones using the Apple watch as well, as the watch is already authenticated.
