Usually not ideal for multiple devices because of its lack of two-way syncing, POP is better if you plan to use email on just one device. This is why IMAP is preferred over POP. WordPress site owners can also use the SMTP server to improve deliverability. For Rackspace, the SMTP settings are as follows &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Server : secure.emailsrvr.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Port : 465<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requires SSL<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Email Address can be a username<br>Password can be the same one used to log in to Rackspace email<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Do You Configure Your Email Client With Rackspace\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.datarecovo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Setup-and-sync-rackspace-email-with-outlok-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"577\" height=\"324\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can use the aforementioned Rackspace settings for configuring various email clients. The most popular email clients used today are Microsoft\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Outlook, Thunderbird from Mozilla, and the default clients from Windows and Apple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How To Configure Outlook Using Rackspace<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are using Outlook, open the email client, and enter your Rackspace email address when prompted (this might happen if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re opening Outlook for the first time). On reaching the next screen, click on IMAP, amongst the other advanced setup options like Microsoft365, Exchange, etc. Then, enter the same password used in your Rackspace mail. A success message saying \u00e2\u20ac\u0153account successfully added\u00e2\u20ac\u009d should appear, clicking on \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcdone\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 will get the job finished and you should be able to send and receive emails using Rackspace.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mozilla Thunderbird&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clicking and opening Thunderbird will show you a prompt to set up your existing email ID. Enter your Rackspace email address, using the same password as the one for Rackspace Webmail. Thunderbird automatically detects protocols, and all you do is click \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcdone, to finish the configuration. You can now send and receive emails.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Windows Mail App&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not everyone is a fan of Outlook. Some use the default Windows Mail App. Click on the Mail app to launch it, and if this is your first time, add an account. Else, visit your settings, go to \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmanage accounts\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, and add an account. There is a list of account options, choose Other Account (IMAP or POP). Navigating to the next page enter the Rackspace email address and password, and you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re good to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Apple&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For iOS mail apps, the process is slightly different. Upon clicking on the default mail app, you will be prompted to add an email account, if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re logging in for the first time. If you aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t, you can visit the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcadd account\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 section, under \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpasswords and accounts, in the settings panel, to add a new Mail account. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll get a number of options, like \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Microsoft Exchange\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcGoogle\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcYahoo\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcAOL\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcOther\u00e2\u20ac\u2122. Choose the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcOther\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 option, and enter the Rackspace email account and password used in webmail. At this stage, you might be asked to enter IMAP and SMTP details, which will be common for incoming and outgoing mail servers. Manual entering of port numbers is not necessary. Upon entering all the details, the Mail app runs a verification. If everything checks out, you can start sending and receiving emails.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Common Problems and Overcoming Them <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you are not able to receive emails, try logging in to your Rackspace webmail directly.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you see the email in webmail, but not in your email client, there might be something wrong with connection settings.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ensure you use the right information because even the smallest typo errors in the username or password will make connection a problem. Furthermore, the correct port number according to your protocol is to be picked. For SMTP, it is 465, for IMAP, 993 and POP it is 995.<br><\/li><li>If you have problems sending emails, try direct login to your Rackspace webmail to send an email from there.<br><\/li><li>Emails that are sent successfully from the webmail but not from the email client can mean a problem with SMTP settings. If you are unable to send emails from webmail or your mail clients, your emails might get tagged as spam. All you need is an existing Rackspace email account, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/post-smtp\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">free SMTP plugin<\/a> by WordPress, by which you can configure your site with Rackspace.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are the steps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Install and activate the free plugin, and visit the POST SMTP area in your WordPress site dashboard.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li><li>Click on \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcall settings\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 for access to all the Post SMTP Settings.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li><li>Enter Post SMTP settings and click on the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmessage\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 tab.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li><li>Enter your Rackspace email or the name you want to use for your site\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mails, in the Email Address area.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li><li>Save changes, and navigate to the settings menu again, visiting the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcaccount\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 tab this time.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li><li>Visit the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dctransport\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 section in this part, to configure the drop-downs accordingly. That should be Type: SMTP. Mailer Type: Post SMTP.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li><li>This should take you to a new set of options, where you have to enter Rackspace SMTP information.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li><li>Here, the information needs to be entered as follows &#8211;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Outgoing Mail Server Host Name &#8211; secure.emailsrvr.com.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Envelope-From Email Address would be your Rackspace Email Address.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Security : SMTPS<\/li><li>Authentication :- Login.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Username : Full Rackspace mail ID.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Password :- The same one used for Rackspace.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;9.Save your changes before you exit.<br>&nbsp; 10.Send a test mail to check if everything is okay. To do this, visit the main \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcPOST SMTP\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 area and choose the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcSend a Test Email\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;11.Enter your email address and then click on \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcNext\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your configuration works, there should be a success message, and an email in your inbox, the sender\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ID being your Rackspace email address.
