Telegram is now part of an elite club of apps that have been downloaded over 1 billion times globally, according to Sensor Tower. The app\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s installs accelerated in 2021, reaching about 214.7 million installs in the first half of 2021, up 61% year-over-year from 133 million in H1 2020.

2. <\/strong>Popular Streamers Leaving Twitch To Join YouTube Gaming (TheVerge)<\/a><\/strong>

Streamer Ben DrLupo has 1.7 million followers on YouTube and 4.5 million on Amazon\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Twitch. Lupo has signed a deal with YouTube to stream exclusively on YouTube Gaming. Several other well-known streamers like Jack \u00e2\u20ac\u0153CouRage\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Dunlop and Rachell \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Valkyrae\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hofstetter have left Twitch to join YouTube, which gains audiences from Twitch.

3. <\/strong>NFL Inks Sports Betting Deal With Four Sportsbooks (MediaPost)<\/a><\/strong>

The NFL has inked sports betting deals with four sportsbooks \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Fox Bet, BetMGM, PointsBet, and WynnBET \u00e2\u20ac\u201c which will become \u00e2\u20ac\u0153approved sportsbook operators\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for the upcoming 2021 season. The deal allows sportsbooks to be promoted via NFL in-game TV advertising TV and other NFL media inventory.

4. <\/strong>Square Launches New Paid Subscription, Invoices Plus (TechCrunch)<\/a><\/strong>

Square’s widely used free invoicing software is poised to become the company’s next major subscription service. The firm is expected to announce Invoices Plus, a paid membership service that will provide sellers with a set of advanced features, including some that were previously only available with the free service.

5. <\/strong>Google Cloud To Pay $15B To Apple To Make It Default For iOS (MediaPost)<\/a><\/strong>

Google will pay more than $15 billion to Apple this year to keep its search engine as the default on Safari, up from $10 billion in 2020, as Apple\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s search for onsite and in-apps has become an important feature for Google. The latest deal will raise Apple\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s services by about 850 basis points, accounting for 9% of the company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s gross profits.

In a bid to expand its classical music offering, Apple announced that it has acquired Primephonic. It will be discontinued as a standalone offering as it is absorbed into the broader Apple Music platform. On September 7, Primephonic will shut down, while Apple readies the 2022 launch of a classical music app based on its own streaming service.

Gumroad, one of the earliest platforms to encourage creators to sell their output, is restructuring its fee.
